How crew opt in to texts
Walled Lake Technical Production Staff (WLTPS), Walled Lake Consolidated Schools
Crew members turn on text alerts themselves on the My info page of the crew site. That page needs a crew sign-in, so the opt-in is shown below using the same code that draws it in the app. The example number is not real, and nothing on this page can be submitted.
1. Texts start off
A signed-in crew member opens My info. Under Contact and alerts, the text checkbox is not checked until they check it. It is separate from the email checkbox, and nothing else on the site turns it on.
Before: My info, Contact and alerts
Contact and alerts
Walled Lake Technical Production Staff. A few texts a week at most. Msg and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Terms and privacy
2. They consent
They enter a US cell number, check the box and click Save. Next to the checkbox they see who is texting, what the texts are about, how often, that message and data rates may apply, and how to reply STOP or HELP, with a link to the terms and privacy page. If the number isn't a valid US cell, the form won't save and asks for one. The date and time they opted in are recorded.

3. What they get
Only texts about their own work: when they're scheduled for a shift, a reminder the day before a shift, and a notice on the day their availability is due. Every text starts with “WLTPS:”. No marketing. They can reply STOP to any text, or uncheck the box on My info, to stop texts at any time.
